7-12 Morning Announcements

Friday Additions:

  • It's the last day of Red Ribbon Week and we want to thank you for your participation in supporting healthy, drug free lifestyles. We hope you've really thought about what your Natural High looks like and how making health choices will help you achieve your goals in life. While having FUN in the process. We want what is best for you and can't wait to see what you can achieve!
  • Attention JUNIORS - there will be a brief meeting at 2:50pm today in the old cafe. See you at the end of the day.

Thursday Additions:

  • The newly founded 9-12 speech and debate club is having an informational meeting Monday, November 1st during lunch in the upstairs common area by Mrs. Barnhart's office. Bring your lunch and join us for fun, snacks, and passionate debating! If you have any questions please contact the primary organizer, Hannah Fornof, or the advisor, Mrs. Bils.
  • Day 4 of Red Ribbon Week has arrived. Cory-Rawson Staff loves our students and we want you to lead happy, healthy, fun, and wonderful LONG lives. We know that by making healthy choices, like staying drug free, you are more likely to live the best life for you. So, take a moment to commit to yourself that you will continue to make healthy choices to ensure a brighter and LONG future! You won't regret it!
    Reminder, tomorrow is 'Drugs are a Trick, not a Treat' Day. Wear your Halloween costume (school appropriate) to school. If costumes are not your thing, wear Green and Gold to show that CR is Drug Free!

Wednesday Additions:

  • Happy Red Ribbon Week. Staying drug free means investing in your current and future health and well-being. You do not have to use drugs to fit in. In the Natural High video from Corbin Bleu, he talks about putting yourself in a position where you even need to make the decision. He says, surround yourself with people who are ALWAYS going to bring you up.
    Celebrate your uniqueness and show it to the world. 
    •  Thursday, is Elderly Day - dress like you are over 70 and remember to live a LONG life by being drug free.

Tuesday Additions:

  • Day 2 of Red Ribbon Week is here. The theme this year is Drug Free Looks Like Me. This theme is a reminder that by staying drug free, you are sending a message to yourself and others about how much you value yourself, your overall health, your community and your future. Knowing your Natural High and making healthy choices will help you to achieve your goals.
    Wednesday you are encouraged to pick a friend or a group of friends and dress alike ~ it is TWIN Day and Friends don't let friends do drugs.

Monday:

  • Student Council is hosting an optional costume contest this Friday, October 29th, so start planning your costumes now! Voting will take place online on Friday and prizes will be awarded at lunch!
    Categories are: Scariest, Funniest, Most Creative,  Best duo, Best group and Teacher
  • JH girls basketball will start in the Abbey gym on Wed. Oct. 27 after school
  • Sophomores! Represent Cory-Rawson High School and discover your leadership talents at HOBY Ohio West Leadership Conference on June 9th-12th at Ohio Northern University in Ada. This conference is open to 2 Cory-Rawson sophomores each year. There is an informational zoom happening on Tuesday, Oct. 26th if you and your parents want to learn more information about HOBY. Please see Mrs. Barnhart if you have questions.
  • If you are driving to school this year, you must have a driving form on file in the office. Forms are on the counter. Please pick one up and return it as soon as possible
  • On Saturday at the District Cross Country Meet, Grant Welte finished 23rd out of 98 runners with a personal best time of 18:39. Congratulations to all the runners for a great season.
  • It's Red Ribbon Week - Today we Stand Up together against Drugs as represented by the color RED. During Hornet Strong we will be using our session to think reflectively about who we are, what lights us up, and how to take ownership for making the best choices. Through Storytelling of today's influencers, heroes, and role models we will explore what brings our 'Natural High.'

  • Fellowship of Christian Hornets will meet this Wednesday, October 27th in the Bob Abbey Gym during Lunch. Come join us for fellowship, fun, and TREATS ... NO tricks! Questions ask Matthew Bechtol, Paige McVetta, Marah Price, Brynn Reese, or Mrs. Bucher.
