🚨 Special Visitors at Cory-Rawson Elementary Yesterday! 🚨

Our elementary students received a special visit from our local firefighters for a fun and interactive fire safety presentation!

From learning about emergency exit plans to exploring the fire truck, our students walked away with valuable safety skills to bring home to their families.

A big shoutout to our hometown heroes for investing in our kids and keeping our community safe. Thank you for all that you do! ❤️🚒

Elementary Spirit Night is coming THIS FRIDAY!

It’s more than a football game—it’s about community, connection, and growing the next generation of Hornet athletes and fans! 🐝

Bring your little Hornets to Spirit Night and let them experience the excitement of cheering from the stands, being part of the HIVE, and seeing what it means to be a Cory-Rawson Hornet. 💚💛 Students will need adult supervision throughout the game, especially with the increased crowds for this event. 

Let’s pack the stands, make some memories, and grow that Hornet spirit—one little fan at a time! 🐝🏈

Homecoming is officially underway at Cory-Rawson! 🎉 Today, we kicked off the festivities with some fun, games, and plenty of school spirit. And this is just the beginning! Get ready for a full week of Homecoming fun next week as we celebrate Cory-Rawson with spirit days, activities, and more. We can’t wait to see everyone showing their school spirit! 💚💛

National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society applications were emailed to eligible students and are due Friday, September 25. Questions can be directed to Mrs. Stockwell!

Students in Ag have been learning all about soil types and how to identify them. What better way than with different types of edible "soil" samples 🍫 and authentic practice!? 🪏🪣

After reading The Magical Yet, the 2nd graders practiced perseverance with a fun cup-stacking challenge using popsicle sticks! 🥤💪 When things get hard, we don’t give up—we keep trying, try a new strategy, and remember, “I can’t do it… YET!” Here’s to a school year full of perseverance and growth! 🌟

Spanish Language students had the opportunity to attend the Cleveland Guardians' Noche Latina Celebration, a curated night of intentional spotlight on the Northeast Ohio’s Hispanic community's collective stories of hope, struggle, and opportunity that make our city and team better.

🐛 STEM Emergency in 2nd Grade! ⛵

Our brilliant second graders were put to the test with the ultimate teamwork challenge: Save Fred!

When Fred the gummy worm flipped his boat, he found himself stranded without his life preserver. Working with partners, students had to figure out how to put Fred's life preserver on him using only paper clips—absolutely no fingers allowed! 📎

It took incredible patience, creative problem-solving, and non-stop communication, but our second graders saved the day. Way to go, team! 👏✨

A great week getting back in the groove, reconnecting with friends and staff, and learning by exploring!

Honoring the lives lost and the heroes who served on September 11, 2001. Let us never forget.

Mrs. Rhiel had an absolute wonderful first day with her brand-new 2nd graders! The classroom was buzzing with big smiles, excited chatter, and bright young minds ready to learn.

From meeting new friends to diving into our first classroom adventures, it was the perfect start to what is going to be an incredible school year.
