NOTICE: HAZARDOUS MATERIAL EXERCISE - SATURDAY 5/13/23
The Hancock County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) in cooperation with the Southwestern Hancock Joint Fire District, Findlay Fire, Hanco EMS, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Hancock County Hazmat Team, Cory Rawson Local Schools, BVH Hospital, Legacy Farmers
Co-op and others will be having a Full Scale Hazardous Materials Drill on Saturday May 13th 2023 at 9am. The location will be at Cory Rawson Schools 3930 County Road 26 Rawson, Ohio with additional staging at Legacy’s Facility 400 South Main Street Mt Cory Ohio.
There will be several apparatus, training props, and individuals in and around the area. This notice is to let you know there is an exercise taking place so no one is alarmed or mistaken that it is a real life scenario. There will be a fog machine used to simulate a
hazardous material leak. This is only a drill. The drill will run until approximately noon on the 13th .
The hazardous material exercise is mandatory through the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC).
