This year's canned food drive was a HUGE success! Between the elementary, middle and high schools, we collected over 3,000 items for the Salvation Army and families in our district. The competition at the 7-12 level maximized the amount of healthy, nutritious food collected, such as peanut butter, chunky soups, beans, etc. At the elementary level, Mrs. Boerger's class won first place with 173 items and will get a pizza party. In the Middle School, Mr. Weis's class won with 1,273 points and will also have a pizza party. At the High School, Ms. James's first period class won with 5,070 points, and her class will get to enjoy a bowling field trip in the second semester. Many thanks to all who donated! #HornetStrong

Students in our Environmental Science class had the opportunity to participate in a deer processing lab yesterday. Students gained knowledge on how to field dress, skin, and get the meat ready for the freezer. Jaron Beck (ONDR Outdoor Skills Specialist) led the lab and we welcomed guests Abby Ditomassi (ODNR Communication Specialist) and Frank Price (Sportsmen Alliance Director of Education).
